The process of removing the remains of the last victim of a landslide in Curug Cipalasari village in Tasikmalaya, West Java, has been halted due to technical difficulties. “We got out the bodies of four victims [on Sunday]. There is still one more body left, but it is buried under a big rock,” West Java Disaster Mitigation Agency head Sigit Udjwalaprana said on Monday.
Sigit said that the rescuers needed special tools to break the rock, which was 6 meters long with a diameter of 6 meters. However, they could not get the heavy equipment through because of the condition of the road.
Five locals were buried by the landslide while bathing near Cipalasari waterfall on Sunday.
